Disney Magic at Sea on the Disney Wonder - Part 4

Disney Magic at Sea on Disney Wonder - Part 4 of 4

DISNEY POOL DECK

The Disney Wonder has 3 themed pools so no matter where you choose to make a splash onboard, it's certainly going to be worth your while. At Goofy's Pool, which is the main central pool on the ship, this is where the whole family can participate in splash-tastic fun.  For the little ones, they can hang out at the Mickey's Splash Zone and Pool for lots of safe water play.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to head down the AquaLab, the Disney Wonder's Water Slide, its so cool we couldn't get Callum off it on one of our sea days, he conquered it 37 times in 2 days (and it was only the long queues at times that stopped him doing it more). There is also the Quiet Cove Adults Pool, where us grown ups can head for our very own exclusive swimming pool and lounge area to relax away from the excitement that is happening just over on the other side of the ships funnel.

???????MARVEL HEROES UNITE DECK SPECTACULAR

The Marvel Universe is definitely onboard the Disney Wonder, whether it be running into a Super Hero in the kids club or Atrium, to experiencing the Marvel Heroes Unite Deck Spectacular. I have seen lots of Cruise Ship entertainment before but OMG this one was another level.  Yes you had to get up on the pool deck early to get a good space but I kid you not, it was soooo worth getting the kids to stay up for it (like they were ever going to sleep anyhow) with incredible stunts, dazzling special effects and jaw-dropping pyrotechnics.

The story starts as we are all here onboard as part of a Conference in conjunction with a new proto-type that Tony Stark is launching but things of course go pear-shaped. To see your favourite Super Heroes, trying to save not only the ship but you, which is trying to be over run by Villains preparing to destroy us. From a live news cross with reporters onboard, heroes that zipline through the air, spiderman running up the side of the funnel and don't forget the action packed flight scenes, this all unravels before our eyes, I can say I have never experienced a cruise ship performance like this and I am not even a Marvel fan, this was amazing!

WALT DISNEY THEATRE

I wouldn't call myself  thespian when it comes to theatre performances, but I have seen a few in my time and I definitely know if I like one or not pretty quickly.  The moment we walked into the Walt Disney Theatre on the first night of our cruise, you got chills with the feeling of how this grand stage had held many performances in her 24 year life span. She was grand and the details you noticed as you looked around the room was breath-taking.

On the first night, we were introduced to the performance Disney Dreams - An Enchanted Classic which certainly pulled on the heartstrings (well mine it did).  Just before the show started, Jimmy the cruise director graced the stage to not only welcome us all onboard, as all good cruise directors do, but to give us a little background into Disney Dreams that it had won the award for being the Best Ever Cruise Ship Production Show in the entire Cruise Ship industry, that was certainly strong words to start the performance off with but I can tell you now, it certainly lived up to the hype that was created.

Frozen, A Musical Spectacular was shown on our second day, but instead of being 2 evening performances, it was one in the afternoon, due to the Marvel Spectacular taking place on the pool deck the same evening. I have been very lucky to have experienced the world of Frozen with Elliana previously and of course know the movie WELL, any parent of a little girl does, but this was classical, enchanted and exactly like it was when I saw it on stage a few years ago. I am so glad I took the time out of my afternoon to experience it again onboard.

On our last evening onboard, we were introduced to The Golden Mickeys, which was like going to the Academy Awards, we were all sitting as distinguished guests at the award ceremony as the evening unfolded and awards were handed out.

DISNEY EVER AFTER FIREWORKS
The experience to finish off our last night onboard the Disney Wonder was the Disney Ever After Fireworks.  Yes you are reading right, Disney is the only cruise line in the world that has a permit to shoot fireworks off the side of their ships and to say this was one of the parts of our cruise I was so looking forward too, had me excited.  I have been on so many cruises, but never ever one with a Fireworks Spectacular and that it was. Set to enchanting Disney Music it was a magical way to end our 1st sailing onboard the Disney Wonder.

But with a tear in my eye as this dream come true came to an end, I can say sailing onboard the beautiful Disney wonder truly blew my mind. I can't pinpoint one thing that was outstanding as it was ALL outstanding. The entertainment, character experiences, dance parties, the award winning Disney Theatre shows, Heroes United deck show, the food, character coffees (amazing cruise ship coffee actually) the cast members (fancy name for the amazing staff) restaurant experiences, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for Elliana, Royal Court High Tea with the girls, the waterslide (Callum topped out at 37 trips in 2 days) and the fireworks, yes OMG fireworks on a cruise ship.

Thank you for coming along for this ride with my family and I.  To enquire   about booking your own Disney Cruise Line family holiday of a lifetime, reach out!
