Reasons to book a Cruise from Australia in 2022

Reasons to book a Cruise from Australia in 2022!

The Cruise Industry in Australia has had a very tough 2 years as we know. For not only all the Cruise Lines and ships we love being suspended from our waters, but to over 18,000 Australians who rely on the Cruise Industry for their livelihood being affected. From tour operators and entertainers, farmers and food producers, beverage providers and transport companies, port workers and travel agents like myself. I have spent the last 17 of my 21 years in the travel industry specialising in cruising, from building up a rapport and great friendships with cruise line representatives, creating amazing working relationships with clients and growing my extensive knowledge of all things cruising, destinations and ships to keep on top of my game, I have worked very hard for my business and for it to have gone into a snap hibernation in 2020, that was something very hard.

As we start to finally look towards the light at the end of the tunnel and a resumption of cruising in our own backyard, with significant progress finally being made, myself like many other cruise loving Australians, CAN'T WAIT to get back to the high seas! While the pandemic is not something that will disappear anytime soon, cruise lines around the world have put in a considerable amount of planning and practice, into creating a safe environment and they have already put these practices into place, in other parts of the world where cruising is already up and running, with stringent health measures surrounding pre-boarding testing and vaccination requirements, to continual checks throughout the cruise, to keep all crew and passengers safe.

So why should you book a cruise out of Australia in 2022? Firstly we are ready for you! We are ready to kick start this much loved holiday past time we long to do again, and when the green light is given and we have that start date set for our ships to resume in Australian Waters, it will be busy.  Here are some reasons to remind you of what's on offer when we can get back onboard.

What have we been missing out on!

DESTINATIONS - Yep its true, you unpack once and the destination changes daily, it might be a cruising cliché but its actually true, you wake up in a new destination or at sea daily. When cruising resumes in Australia, it is likely to start off with a collection of domestic sailings only, but you know what, those of us who have missed the cruising experience, would happily sit on a ship at the cruise terminal, to just be able to experience life onboard again. But we have some truly spectacular cities and towns up, down and around our rugged coastline. From Queensland Coast cruises that could easily visit Mooloolaba, Gladstone, Tangalooma Island and up along the Great Barrier Reef, skirting along the New South Wales coast, around to South Australia & Tasmania taking in Newcastle, Eden even Kangaroo Island. But don't forget the options that could be on offer in Northern Australia with Cape York, Arnhem Land and the Kimberley's.

ENTERTAINMENT - Who misses being able to head into a lounge in the middle of the afternoon, grab a cocktail or beer and spend time dabbing off numbers while you play Bingo or how about your daily brain test and winning some prizes in Trivia. Who else longs to come back to your room after dinner to find the daily newsletter on your bed giving you all the information you need for the next day, full of port talks, golf chipping tournaments, line dancing or art & crafts.

Spending the evenings catching a live Comedy Show, participating in the 'Not so Newlywed' game show or heading off to experience one of the Broadway Style Theatre performances.

FOOD - Food Glorious Food. Yep its a small part of why we like to cruise isn't it (even if we may say it's not).  Meals at your whim 24 hours a day if you want, its also been a while since we've been able to get the crunchy cruise ship bread (my favourite), delectable desserts, made to order pizzas or the grandest of afternoon High Tea's in the Queens Room, we all can't wait to get back to it.

FUN FOR THE FAMILY - As we know, the ships that come to Australia are family-friendly and ready to keep our kids (whether big or small) entertained with hours of endless activites. From dedicated kids clubs, to ice-skating rinks, dodgem cars, zip-lining and mini golf courses, don't forget Skydiving and simulated surfing, there is something for every child and the child at heart. For the additional thrill-seekers the option of twisty waterslides and free-falling ones to give you the rush you might crave.

RELAXATION - The joy of a cruise is you can do as much or as little as you like, so whether you want to lay by the pool and work on your tan, hang out in the spa, near a bar or on your cabin balcony, the choice is all yours.

We look forward to the day we can celebrate the news that they are coming home.
